Compaq, Micron in chip deal worth up to $20 billion
HOUSTON, Oct 25 (Reuters) - Micron Technology Inc. ,
the biggest U.S. maker of memory chips, will provide Compaq
Computer Corp. , the world's largest personal computer
maker, with a supply of vital memory components for its PCs in
a massive, five-year deal, the companies said on Monday.
Industry sources close to the deal put its value at up to
$20 billion over five years. Under the alliance, Micron would
become Compaq's single largest supplier of computer memory
chips, providing nearly a majority of the company's worldwide
requirements.

Princeton, New Jersey, Oct. 26 (Bloomberg Data) -- Micron Technology Inc. (MU US) was reiterated ''outperform'' by analysts John Cross and Mark L. Edelstone at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. The 12-month target price is $120.00 per share.
