Thanks, Bob. I am thinking about opening an account at Dreyfus, as the commissions (especially options) are much lower than my current broker.

Dreyfus shows real time prices on all stocks in your account when you ask for the account status page. You also get real time quotes on any stock when you ask for a quote, if you have logged in. You can ask for quotes on ten stocks at a time.

Are you sure about that? I haven't used the new site that much, but it seems like you only get real time when you place an order and preview it. Another way to get real time is to set up an order that cannot be filled (like offering way too little) and then "reviewing" and "changing" the order without consummation, which gives a real time quote.

[edit] I just went to the site, and you are correct. "Quotations are real-time during stock market hours." Option quotes are delayed though, and my "order review" system seems to work pretty well for getting them real time.

Nothing I've seen beats the Datek streamer though. Free with your account.
