John, I will have to reread the history on this because, as I remember (correctly of not) the city was basically entered at the same time from different city limits. Maybe the Chancellory was closer to the Russian side. I can't say for sure but do know that the American advance was purposely held up to allow the Russians to catch up and, I feel sure that FDR promised the city to the Soviets. He was a real prince???
I agree with Patton, we should have whipped those Russian bastards while we had the army assembled to do it.
