Well it's hard to even draw a nice level playing field between Athlon and Coppermine, given the great number of platforms Coppermine can be featured on.

As for 840, it is generally agreed that for normal desktop benchmarks like Winstone, Quake 3, or Expendable, the extra PCI66 bus and 2nd RDRAM channel is basically overkill. In other words, a lot of the benchmark scores you see on 840 will probably be seen on 820 as well. (I don't know about SPECint or SPECfp, since they seem to be rather dependent on memory bandwidth.)
