Tell me what you're thinking, Voltage man (like JW's nickname, but HATE HIS COMMENTS ABOUT MY DARLING YANKEES!)

Right and left brain: If Poet and I are to wear bikinis on the cover of a book I write, the question is, which bikini is logical and which is intuitive?

In fact, re: brains, you may have noticed the recent news that not only the hippocampus (memory) but the cortex (mostly everything complex the brain does) generates new neurons throughout life. The brain is looking much more "plastic" and "flexible" and "regenerative" than we thought. There really is no "right" and "left" brain persay, in terms of logical or intuitive capacities. It is clear though that you're asyoung as you think you are--in the sense that if you stay active and involved, you'll be sprouting new neurons. But I think you are talking about styles--intuitive versus logical. And I'd be very interested in what you have to say. PM me if you want.

individual investors are very much left brained logical types

bighouses are dominated by their "chart room experts" which contain highly compensated Technical Analysts

TA experts are right brained and left brained, but allow their TA to be dictated by pattern recognition, mass conditional psychology, and sequential channels

this is the province of right brain spacial reasoning

I am 70% leftbrain, 25% rightbrain, 5% nobrain

they each have their role and are valuable to me
in work, investing, and play
thank you very much

>> Uncle Frank has pointed out to me that I am a Left Brain thinker.

Actually, I suggested you might be Right brain dominant, nephew <g>. The following is a comparison of left and right brain thinking that I lifted off the Net:

Both sides of the brain can reason, but by different strategies, and one side may be dominant. The left brain is considered analytic in approach while the right is described as holistic or global. A successive processor (left brain) prefers to learn in a step-by-step sequential format, beginning with details leading to a conceptual understanding of a skill. A simultaneous processor (right brain) prefers to learn beginning with the general concept and then going on to specifics.

Does being right brain keeps you buying stocks that have run far already or is it the golfing that does that? <g> I remember you showing up on the DELL thread near the end after I spent three years on it, the same for AOL, and now QCOM which I bought at the beginning of the run. My buy on QCOM was perfect timing I might add, I guess get that from my left brain. You know, using logic, adding it all together. LOL Just having a little fun now, and learning as I going along.
