People have aliases for many reasons. A lot of people who post on SI have jobs (some I would bet are public figures) in the tech sector. Do you think these people would like their personal / professional info posted?

Some would lose their jobs if that happened.

Privacy, from my experience, is taken very seriously on SI.

I do not know the reason or real reason CB was terminated.

CR, there was one member who was terminated for posting public records that contained the personal information of a company insider of a particularly notorious stock distribution scheme. It turned out that company insider was also a member of SI. In the end the poster was reinstated. I don't know whether the poster knew the insider was a member or not.
