Super Spinning Mills Ltd-Sales up 10%,net trebles.

COIMBATORE: Though the net sales in the second quarter of the current fiscal went up only by about 10 per cent, the net profit of Super Spinning Mills Ltd has nearly trebled compared to the corresponding period last year.

According to the unaudited financial results, the net sales in the quarter ended September 30, 1999 were Rs. 44.90 crores as against Rs. 40.83 crores in the same period last year. The other income stood at Rs. 26 lakhs (Rs. 72 lakhs).

The total expenditure was Rs. 38.71 crores (Rs. 36.60 crores) and the interest burden was marginally higher at Rs. 2.03 crores (Rs. 1.67 crores). The gross profit was much higher at Rs. 4.42 crores (Rs. 3.28 crores).

Despite a higher provision for depreciation at Rs. 2.94 crores (Rs. 2.75 crores) and taxation Rs. 15 lakhs (Rs. 5 lakhs), the net profit in the second quarter of the current financial year zoomed to Rs. 1.33 crores from Rs. 48 lakhs during the same period last year.
