Buy the rumor, sell the news--is the saying. INTC was up last week on the release of Coppermine. It was down today, in oan overall down market, because the news was out. no surprises (good or bad). expect intel to move on its analysts conference Thursday. Let's hope they take a page out of MSFT's conference call. Now, that's a switch.

John,

<I can't figure today's price action...>

IMO, trying to figure out one day's action on any stock is a futile endeavor.

John - Re: "What is with INTC today. Do we have some new board problems overhanging the new cpu's? Are there really some memory bus probs? I can't figure today's price action out albeit it was on relatively modest volume"

Relax .

Intel is not moved for POSITIVE technological reasons anymore - Only DOWNWARD if they screw up !

Intel's stock will advance on good FINANCIAL news.

Like it or not, Intel makes money and their GROWTH can easily be quantified - unlike the .COM companies - whose stock can soar just because two .COMs agree to post each other's URL on each other's Web Site.
