And you still do not get it. Some applications will see more of an improvement than others. Anand found that 3D Studio MAX experiences an 11% boost on the 820 over the VIA Apollo Pro 133+ w/ PC133 VC-SDRAM. The results will vary from application to application (as well as from website to website), but most computers are bought with one or two major applications in mind.

My point still stands, that the 840 chipset is great for some applications, even if its useless for mainstream desktop applications. But I guess if you consider Netscape and MS Office to be a valid measuring stick for high-end machines like those based on the 840, then who am I to argue with your logic? I'll even let you have the last word.
