NTT Docomo , Microsoft to brief on new JV
TOKYO, Oct 26 (Reuters) - NTT Mobile Communications Network Inc (NTT Docomo) and Microsoft Corp (NasdaqNM:MSFT - news) said on Tuesday they would hold a news conference at 1 p.m. (0400 GMT) on formation of a new joint venture.

Spokesmen for the two companies said they could not immediately disclose further details about the joint venture.

In March, NTT Docomo, Japan's biggest mobile phone operator, said it had teamed up with the U.S. software giant to develop a range of mobile phone services and products.

The two firms will initially aim to improve mobile functions of Microsoft's Windows CE (compact edition) operating system, NTT Docomo said.

A subsidiary of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp , NTT Docomo earlier this month surpassed its parent to become Japan's biggest company in market capitalisation at 21.12 trillion yen.
