From what I understand it was a great deal monetarily and heck the stock has performed pretty well since. Yup. Pretty well. God bless SGI. They're so... how would you say it? Philanthropic. -JCJ Edit: Actually, I didn't know until now that the Cray unit SGI sold to Sun was Sparc based. I had just thought they kept the SC crown jewel and inadvertantly sold off the mainframe killer/center of the internet-IP universe/eCommerce/Telco/ubiquitous-come-to-papa-computing 'Starfire' server.
