Do you anticipate TIVO having any impact, positive or negative, on GMST in the future?

Positive. Henry will get his cut just as with Microsoft and AOL.

While Gemstar has struck licensing deals with Microsoft (MSFT) and America Online (AOL) to provide electronic guides for each company's interactive TV content, executives say both are now potential competitors. Microsoft and AOL (AOL) can develop their own EPGs based on Gemstar's technology.

"If somebody [licenses] their EPG, they won't be choosing ours," Yuen says, adding that he is in talks with TiVo, although no deal has been announced.
