Pete, This was posted on Yahoo just a little while ago and I like what this person said so I am going to post it over here as well.Think real hard This is a message that went out with the earning surprises: "Snyder Communications (SNC: news, msgs) posted third-quarter net income of $9.5 million, or 13 cents a share, compared to $13.9 million, or 20 cents a share. However, third-quarter earnings exceeded the consensus estimate by a penny. Revenue rose increased 25 percent to $156 million, compared with $125 million for the same quarter of 1998, excluding revenue from Ventiv Health Inc., spun-off during the third quarter of 1999, and from Circle.com, which had its own tracking stock commence trading in Oct. 1999. Shares fell 1/4 to close at 14 1/8. I believe that everyone needs to stop and think about what this really says. Learn what it is saying about the fundamentals of the company and where it is heading. Perhaps you will begin to see why ALL the analysts are recommending this stock as a buy or strong buy. This is not a company that is going out of business. Let me explain something about the short position. Much of the short position IS due to SNC screwing up. When they started acquiring companies they did it for stock instead of cash. Because of this fact many of the companies that they bought out shorted the same stock they were given. Why? So that they could lock in profits from the sale of their company. So regardless of the stock going being artificially driven down their net profit remains the same. That drew the attention of the shorting MM's. Well guess what? They have to buy the short positions back before they sell their shares or come up with the needed capital to cover their short position and who are they going to buy them back from? Anyone here who wants to take a tax write off. Go ahead and sell if you want but I know that when one or two bricks start to fall the wall will crumble and this stock will run. I have seen it before and I will see it again and I will be here when it does. Personally I recommend a cost averaging method of buying this stock and you will see your profit even sooner.
