I suppose you are new to this board. Please let me inform
you that unlike some boards, we are not combative. In fact there is no more gentlemanly (or ladylike) and friendly board on the web anywhere. Your expression, "so what" is understandable considering that you don't know about Jay Chen or the spirit here. In fact Jay Chen is the single most important contributor to this board. He has trading know how and travels back and forth between the US and the Far East, knowing far more than most of the rest of us do about the situation of Softbank and any related stocks. I think almost all of us have well profited from his remarks. In particular, I think all of us with an interest in Softbank look at stocks like ICGE,Vert,YHOO etc. with some attention also, and the Y2K problem is also interesting. Did you know that Softbank is the majority owner of Yahoo Japan? Spirited arguments are of course welcome. That's a good way to find the truth. But mutual respect is compatible with finding the truth. That's today's sermon.

Hello Robert,
I went absent in the boonies of Chongqing over the past few days and this is my first opportunity to get on-line at the Holiday Inn here. I see I have caused some controversy. I offer my apologies to you for having used this thread as a way to keep in touch with my friends. I only participate (lurking or otherwise) in this 9984 forum chat forum as I only have so many hours in a day and 9984 is by far my largest single position and, to me, is the most interesting company to follow.

During the last wobble of 9984, I had bought into VERT, ICGE, along with mentioning a long running program of put sales on NEM. The context was (1) I was holding firm on 9984, (2) there is a newly noted mania in B2B I-net.

I believe our collective 9984 investment is within a broader context of other I-net holdings, developing I-net industry trends, business models, Japanese/Asian IT shares and the ever real danger of complacency to ©ordainedî rise of our holdings.

I treat all participants on this thread as my friends and in fact have met two of the participants, as well as having invested in one private equity initiative with one board member. I used this thread to update on my action on VERT as I did not want anyone who may have followed my trades to be unaware that I had exited already due to the opportunity to benefit from the volatility. As you had mentioned you had been lurking on the thread, you then also are aware that I note my trades within hours of having done so and I note my mistakes (biggest one made was in cooperation with Mact on trimming back on 9984 a while ago) with equal alacrity. I do not post my winnings to gloat and I do not hide my ugly mistakes. This is simply a game.

So, as you say, let us move on and I will keep non-9984 comments to those directly related to I-net business only (as opposed to gold mining). This thread started really small, slow and that was only 2xxx postings ago. This thread is fun. Should there be more than one active participant want me to change my posting style, I will, as I am only one out of many.
