<Anands review suggests it's a horse race...with the Athlon FPU the stronger of the two. The Cumine is an aging stallion on steroids where as the Athlon is still a young colt...> Yeah, it is a horse race. Only that the AMD horse is ahead even while missing 2 legs (competitive process and competitive platform). Now, that excludes the effects of other benefits that will come from aging such as built-in L2 and speed path work, full SSE implementation, etc.
