Hi Tenchusatsu; Some time ago, this thread had a lot going on about the heating problem with RDRAM. Here is the first link I've seen that mentions that the heating problems might have to be eliminated by using an controller that estimates temperature, and slows things down when the party gets going too strong. (Sort of like Greenspan.)

... Rambus' performance could be compromised due to low power mode issues and the need for heat throttling, i.e., a slowing of the clock speed of the memory chips in order to prevent overheating.

"This degradation is so pronounced that systems vendors are discouraged from looping system benchmark programs for fear that the throttles will engage, lowering performance numbers for Rambus solutions as the systems heat up," he recently wrote.
