Maybe Intel concluded that, for the Christmas season they should concentrate on the 128K cache Coppermines? With AMD seemingly stuck at 450 and 500 MHz for the K6, they could sell 500-600 MHz Celeron-Coppermines for an average of $200 and rescue they're ASP by dropping the lower grade Celerons.

But when are the 128K Celeron Coppermines supposed to be announced?
