The banner continues to read that people will find out what this is on October 26. That's today. I have not checked the news, but maybe someone else has, or, maybe EMC will make the announcement later today.

EMC is having an analysts' meeting at 5 p.m. EST today. What the "rock" thing is will be announced/discussed during that meeting.

There are three ways to hear (and see slides from) that meeting:

1. Go to EMC's web site:

emc.com

There will be some instructions on this page then a place to click for the presentation link. At the link, one will probably be asked for one's name and a number.

For the number enter: presemc

2. Call: 703-736-7301 about 5 minutes before the presentation to hear it live.

3. After the meeting through Thursday, October 28th, one can hear a replay at: 703-925-2435

This replay number has a pass code one must enter: 2306276

Hope this helps. I just obtained all of the above from EMC's IR [toll free number: 877-EMC-NYSE]

Dear Nathan, by ROCK, I believe that EMC means they offer the support for e-commerce through their storage facility.

EMC is the leader in this field. EMC has teamed up with Oracle, a company that offers data bases, among other things.

So eToys, a company, will use EMC's product(s) and Oracle's product(s), according to John Hnanicek. I hope this information helps.

I copied this from EMC's home page:

John Hnanicek
CIO, eToys

"EMC is the rock on which we
base our scalability and all of
our reliability. It?s one of the
key foundation points of our
whole IT infrastructure."

"Oracle and EMC are the
industry standard in
e-commerce. And that?s why
they are at the core of our
infrastructure."

PS: Reading between the lines, etoys believes it will have a good Christmas season! But that's my own opinion, that's my own interpretation of the material on EMC's home page about etoys. And the Chief Information Officer Mr. Hnanicek is grateful for the support of EMC and ORACLE, the two companies that are the ROCK (because they offer the support or infrastructure) for etoys e-commerce.

Best,

Mephisto
