Virgin JamCast, a joint venture between
Wavo and Virgin Entertainment Group, To Offer Over
37,000 Digital Music Files From Top-Selling Recording Artists,
Major Labels and Independents
Virgin JamCast, the easiest way to get Digital Music delivered over
the Internet, today announced an agreement with Liquid Audio, Inc.
(NASDAQ: LQID) to make their entire catalog of over 37,000 Digital
Music downloads available to customers of Virgin JamCast at
www.virginjamcast.com. Virgin JamCast, a joint venture between Wavo
Corporation (NASDAQ: WAVO) and Virgin Entertainment Group, is the first
Web site to deliver Digital Music directly to users' PCs. The addition
of Liquid Audio's extensive collection of secure downloads by top
selling artists helps reinforce Virgin JamCast's position as the most
complete customer solution for finding and purchasing Digital Music.
While Virgin JamCast members are online, the service works in the
background to download their preferred music directly to their PC,
without interrupting any on-line time or tasks. Virgin JamCast members
can sample the newest music releases at their leisure from their own
PC, and then purchase Digital Music 'singles' or physical CDs from
www.virginjamcast.com.
By teaming with Liquid Audio, Virgin JamCast members will have access
to the latest new digital tracks and albums, from both major labels and
independent artists, with selected clips delivered directly to
consumers' hard drive. For example, members could choose to receive new
Digital Music from artists in Liquid Audio, such as The Dave Matthews
Band, and have those tracks automatically waiting for them on their
hard drive, eliminating their need to search for, and download the
music. Virgin JamCast is the first music site to make getting and
listening to Digital Music so easy.
