I'm new to this stock and this board. What you say about the technology sounds impressive. However, I've been burned before by impressive technology without sound and effective management to back it up. Any input about the company beyond what's official.? thanks

Fonix Ports Speech Technologies to Intel ARM Processors

Fonix to Demonstrate Speech Recognition and Text-To-Speech On StrongARM Processors at SpeechTEK '99

NEW YORK, SpeechTEK '99, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Fonix(TM) Corporation (Nasdaq: FONX), a leading developer of text-to-speech, speech recognition and handwriting recognition technologies, today announced that its core technologies have been ported to and are fully operational on Intel(R) StrongARM(R) microprocessors. Fonix's ASR and TTS technologies, with low memory and minimal computing resources (MIPS), are currently available on the Intel StrongARM SA-1100 processor and will soon be available on the SA-1110 processor. Fonix speech technologies offer continuous speech, user independence and meet the established vocabulary requirements of products which utilize the Intel StrongARM chip.

"We are delighted to have Fonix speech technology operating on a StrongARM chip. This is a significant milestone for Fonix and the speech technology industry," said Thomas A. Murdock, president and CEO
of Fonix. "A wide spectrum of embedded applications including PDA's, web pads, cell phones, and automotive applications have been clamoring to see speech technologies running on a lower cost, high performance platform."

Intel has invited Fonix to join its third-party partners program. The third-party partners program brings together companies developing multiple applications on StrongARM processors. As part of the program
and to provide information to developers, Intel has established a Fonix link on its Web site (http://developer.intel.com/design/strong/tpvsolutions/vendors.htm) and Fonix has posted a link to Intel on the Fonix Web site (www.fonix.com.fonixpartners/index.htm).

Fonix core technologies were first introduced on StrongARM processors at the Embedded Systems Conference, September 26-30, 1999, in San Jose, CA. Fonix will be demonstrating its ASR and TTS technologies operating on StrongARM processors at the SpeechTEK conference, October 26-27, at the Hilton Towers in New York City.
