Dear pfierb:

Sorry to lay the "ferret-speak" on you. My mistake. However, I couldn't help notice but is "pfierb" which can be pronounced like "Furby" a coincidence? Or are you relatively diminutive in stature with your own special vocabulary?

On Pete Rose: A marvelous player. Recent article (can't recall where) depicted betting slips allegedly in his handwriting including bets on the Reds. But, the other night was not the time to confront him and to badger him. It diminished the celebration and ceremony. Rose is in OJ-like denial but deserved his moment (as did the fans) and it was destroyed. Besides, the incident makes him a martyr. IMO, he belongs in the Hall Of Fame but not back in baseball. It'll be interesting to see how NBC handles the controversy and the reporter this evening when the Series continues.
