INIT announces deal with IBM.

Interliant and IBM Form Alliance to Deliver
Application Hosting and Outsourcing Services

Solutions Reduce Cost and Complexity for Companies to Maintain In-House e-Business
Infrastructure

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 26, 1999-- Interliant, Inc. (NASDAQ:INIT - news), a leading Application
Service Provider (ASP), and IBM today at ISPCON announced a sales and marketing alliance to deliver application hosting
solutions that combine IBM e-business hardware and software with Interliant hosting services.

As part of the alliance, Interliant and IBM are initially offering two solutions: Interliant's eReach(a) application management
service, and hosted e-commerce solutions deploying IBM WebSphere(b) and IBM Net.Commerce. These solutions will be
brought to market through IBM's and Interliant's direct sales forces and IBM's and Interliant's Business Partner channels.

Interliant's eReach is one of the first industry ASP offerings to deliver a fully managed application service on servers residing at
a customer site. eReach provides a comprehensive solution including management of Lotus Domino(c) messaging solutions and
applications, server monitoring and management, help desk and technical support and integration services.

The second solution offered by IBM and Interliant includes the IBM WebSphere family of application servers and IBM
Net.Commerce on IBM Netfinity(b) or RS/6000(b) server platforms. This solution is targeted at customers who require
advanced security, high performance, and load balancing commerce sites with a high degree of server availability. Customers
have the flexibility of choosing between IBM Net.Commerce Hosting Server for easy store creation without compromising
security or performance, and IBM Net.Commerce Start or Pro, for customers seeking highly integrated second- or
third-generation commerce Web sites.

``Companies are expressing an increasing interest in outsourced e-business solutions to reduce potential high costs and
technical complexity of maintaining the necessary infrastructure in-house,' said Jim Corgel, general manager of Internet Service
Provider Industry, IBM Global Industries. ``Interliant's position as a leading provider in the ASP market and ability to deliver
complex solutions dovetails perfectly with IBM's e-business leadership and technology strengths, giving companies an easy and
cost-effective way to join the e-business revolution without signing on for the technical burdens.'

``With increasingly limited IT staff resources, organizations of all sizes are looking for a quick, easy and dependable way to
deploy their e-business solutions,' said Jim Lidestri, president, Interliant. ``This alliance with IBM combines the best of IBM's
technology and Interliant's hosting services and allows customers to realize the value of our hosted e-business solution offerings
much more rapidly than as internally deployed solutions.'

A Premier member of IBM's Service Providers for e-Business Initiative, Interliant is one of a growing number of Service
Providers that receive marketing, education and sales support to assist in the delivery of value-added e-business services based
on IBM solutions. The Service Providers for e-Business Initiative is part of IBM PartnerWorld, a marketing and enablement
program designed to create new revenue and marketing opportunities for IBM Business Partners, and provide customers with
e-business solutions including products, services, technologies and marketing.
