If he was trying to bait me it was very subtle. Cuz I don't know tagalogs from lincoln logs. So I wouldn't bite the bait I didn't know could be ate!

Actually I think twisteR thinks about the same as I do when it comes to SUNW and MSFT. I am sure he will respond and then we'll know... Won't we?

SUNW is a great company. It is not going to take over the world. MSFT is a great company. It is not going to infect the world and cause the demise of modern civilization.

Sometimes people on this thread get a little righteous about the Good vs Evil debate. If MSFT wasn't meeting a need they wouldn't be in business. If SUNW wasn't meeting a need they wouldn't be in business. Each company will do whatever is in their power to grow their business. What I find odd is that they both take similar actions to advance their own interest, but MSFT is always viewed as having evil alterior motives. Where as SUNW, for basically the same type of activity, is viewed as clean and virtuous. It is classic underdog script writing.

twiSter just likes to goad you and you all just get twisted about it.

There is no doubt that there is a movement towards Network computing. Server delivered Apps will be a part of our future. There was a movement 10 years ago away from that architecture. A PC on the desk was more efficient and easier to control. Things change. PC's are more complicated. Partially implemented standards from a variety of peripheral vendors create a driver update nightmare. Now we are swinging back. Amazing, things change. The net has done a good job of creating and adhering to standards. Bandwidth is growing and will continue to grow. I can remember being told, "9600 is as fast as you will ever get over a phone line.", I now have a DSL modem that does 450kb(its)ps. And Downtime is down. It is now getting easier and more efficient to utilize a server based system.

But MSFT will be right there with SUNW. Today MSFT announced a partnership with CSCO to work with Application Server Providers to deliver Server based apps. Things change.

Good luck with your investments. Sorry for the long and probably Junior Balloonish post.
