Goldman -- who is looking for the Dow to end the year at 11,300 -- is in the process of cranking up his estimates for the storied index.

"It's a youth movement," Goldman remarked. "It will most definitely help the market Tuesday."

>> Question: They just announced that MSFT will be part of the DOW 30 by Monday. Do the funds managers know about this ahead of time, thereby have more time to adjust their portfolios?<<

This move was in the works for a while, Some other IBM's friends are coming over also including Intel and SBC. I think we are also going to get Home Depot. They kicked out Goodyear, and Chevron now they just have to kick out Greenspan. The market is under constant seize due to fear of higher interest rates and the obnoxious high yield. I think if Greenspan were let go the Dow and Nasdaq would soar over a thousand points. Don't know what advantage it is to have Intel and Microsoft added to the Dow.?
