Parametric Technology Corporation Announces Enterprise Software Partners Program 10/26/99 8:46:28 AM WALTHAM, Mass., Oct 26, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
Strategic Alliances Build Relationships and Drive Product Innovation While Delivering Collaborative Product Commerce and MDA Solutions Parametric Technology Corporation (NASDAQ:PMTC), a leading provider of collaborative product commerce (CPC) solutions, today launched its Enterprise Software Partners (ESP) program. This program provides a foundation for building relationships with third-party software companies interested in developing and marketing products that integrate with PTC's full range of product offerings. The ESP program is also tightly integrated with PTC's alliance strategy, which involves working closely with a variety of software companies, platform providers and systems integrators to support its CPC and Mechanical Design Automation (MDA) solutions.
As the successor to PTC's Cooperative Software Partners (CSP) program, the ESP program provides partners with access to an expanded set of solutions including the Windchill Factor! e-Series, which delivers value across the product development spectrum, from concept and definition to production, service, maintenance and retirement. The new ESP program also gives partners expanded access to PTC's MDA solutions.
"Our partners are critical to our success. With more than 250 partners worldwide, we believe they are the cornerstone of our success," said Ron Locklin, vice president, strategic alliances. "The new ESP program provides our software partners with access to the most comprehensive suite of CPC and MDA tools available today and gives our customers access to leading-edge solutions to meet their enterprise objectives."
"As a preferred partner in the new ESP program, we will now have even greater access to PTC resources and strategic marketing support," said Grant Williard, president, Integrated Industrial Information, Inc. (I3). "Our Legend applications for loading heterogeneous legacy engineering data into Windchill will be even better poised to support PTC's collaborative product commerce solutions. The bottom line is that the ESP program will give our customers the advantage of having the best enterprise and CPC technology available to them, and that helps us sustain and expand our business."
PTC's ESP program incorporates a two-tiered structure with Tier One being Preferred ESP partners and Tier Two being ESP program members. Tier One Preferred ESP partnerships include technology as well as co-marketing initiatives between PTC and the partner. Tier Two ESP program members have relationships with PTC that are based primarily on technology and the integration of their software products with PTC's solutions.
"As a preferred ESP partner, we are able to utilize an expanded set of tools such as PTC's Windchill solutions and Behavioral Modeler Extension, which supports our strategic marketing initiatives to give customers access to solutions that help them create an optimal, fully engineered design," said Marc Dulude, president, Moldflow Corporation. "Our ongoing participation in the ESP program will help ensure that we continue to deliver world- class software solutions to the injection molding industry."
Both levels of ESP Partners are admitted to the ESP program (www.ptc.com/partners/esp) in three main categories including Mechanical Design Automation (MDA), Collaborative Product Commerce (CPC) and Service.
--The primary focus of the MDA ESP partners is on building integrations to the Pro/ENGINEER family of products including a new focus on partners building integrations to the Behavioral Modeler Extension (BMX).
--Within the CPC section of the ESP program, partners are focused on building integrations to the entire Windchill Factor! e-Series including the following Windchill Factors: Collaboration, Product Planning, Engineering, Sourcing, Product Management, Manufacturing Planning, Production and Service.
--The Service section of the ESP program is focused on providing tools to partners that provide consulting, integration and training services on software products developed by PTC or an ESP partner.
