NEW DELHI, Oct 26 (Reuters) - Ford Motor Company's (NYSE:F - news) Indian unit said on Tuesday its mid-sized IKON car will be launched in three variants in the Indian market.

``The Ford IKON will be launched in three variants, two petrol models 1.6 ZXi and CLXi, and one diesel model, 1.8ZXi,' the company said in a statement.

The ex-showroom New Delhi price of the 1.6 CLXi petrol model will be 499,589 rupees ($11,516), the 1.6 ZXi model will be 572,210 rupees and the 1.8 ZXi diesel model will be 647,564 rupees.

Ford officials had earlier set a sales target of 20,000 IKON cars in 2000. The car will be produced at the new Maraimalai Nagar plant near the southern city of Madras.

The IKON is scheduled to be launched in the local market in November, the company had said.

Ford has so far invested over 17 billion rupees in its Indian operations. It began by selling the locally-assembled Escort model in 1996.

($1 equals 43.38 rupees)

Mohan: She really is pissed.

Like Raj says: "The meek don't inherit the earth, they get sent to concentration camps. Hindus need to learn to push back and fuss." So sue me, but when the end is the preservation of Hinduism in its homeland, ALL means stand justified. Bajrang Dal, rah, rah!

BTW, I dont believe in any relegion. I beleive that relegion is the last vestige of scoundrels. But I live life, more or less, according to the Gita, which was probably instilled in me without my knowledge by just being raised where and how I was.

She should be made Tourism Minister Uma Bharti's assistant. Together, they could bring down India's tourism traffic (and revenues) all the way down to zero.

We're witnessing the results of the changes in the demography of the Northeast, in Bengal, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur...

Yeah, and the current "Lynch 'em all!" attitude is surely going to endear them and make them all desire to belong to India, that is Bhaarat!

In a way, I am rather glad to see the writings of columnists like Ms. Bhosle, and even more glad to see many people buying such arguments -- there can be no better proof that India is firmly on track towards disintegration.
