You should have seen one of my posts on the RMBS thread in response to those who thought the 840 chipset was going to be "Rambus Christmas." I reminded them that it won't happen until 820 is released, so the 840 release can be considered more of a "Rambus Thanksgiving."

About that Micron quote:

The performance advantage you get for the price you pay is worth it

This somewhat surprised me. I knew that the price/performance part of 840 is going to be a tough one, especially compared to the alternatives like RCC. But this is one customer who thinks the extra cost of an 840 system is worth it. And this is the same customer who is going with VIA's chipset over 820 because of price/performance issues.
