john, you're not nearly as dumb as you seem! <VBG> IF they only spin off 20% AND current shareholders do not have an opportunity to participate, your benefit will be as follows: 1 cash from the ipo goes into MRV's kitty. we'll see one-time gains from that sale. 2 if the ipo is hot, MRV will benefit because of the increased market value of the remaining 80% they still own. thus, IF the market places a value on OA at $1bil, MRVC will have shares of OA with a market value of $800mil...MORE than its current market cap!
