If you want to read the book and provide your own summary, be my guest! Most of what I have culled is factual; some is interpretive, but as close to Morris's interpretation as possible, since what HE thought was in dispute here; for the rest, I care not, I at least bought the GD book and tried to find out what it said...

I'm finding it interesting. I'm no special fan of RR's, nor do I despise him. Note that I sidestepped the argument as much as possible. However, these updates on a controversial book by someone who is reading it are interesting to think about, IMO.
