Ah- an insult to someone not on SI. That surely deserves SPECIAL RECOGNITION. I don't know what category to put this in- I guess INSULT #1. Will there be more???? Oh I can't wait.

Oh, please, Chris, don't rake up those old embers! Poor CB was terminated and we have all been going nuts to get reinstated--with success, thank God. Meanwhile, she sent me a wonderfully sweet and kind e-mail and our friendship is quite healthy. We all say things at times that probably shouldn't have been said. While clearing out the house from hell, I actually snarled at my friend Tom; we've been close for 32 years, but I was so frustrated with the mess and he was there. If we all had to live with every ill-considered thing we've ever said, life would be unbearable. I can let it go. I ask that you do the same for friendship's sake.
