Why companies and governments must prepare

SNIP:
>> I get a lot of mail from folks wondering why, if there is no Y2K
problem, companies and governments are making preparations for the date rollover. This reflects the kind of reasoning that has led many people to panic about Y2K. Preparations at an institutional level do not reflect the severity of the problem, but the responsibility those institutions have taken on.

After all, would you be comfortable if your bank or the power companies in your region failed to prepare for odd computer behavior around the New Year? With all the hype and hysteria surrounding Y2K doesn't it make sense for a company, which holds the investments of hundreds of thousands of shareholders, or a government with the livelihoods of millions at stake, to take extra precautions? <<

The TA guys report NAZ and NDX looking mighty sick. U.S. Dollar still getting spanked and the bond can't catch a bid. Downward trend still intact.
