Ruth,

<< I believe Eric said GSM speeds are now 14.4 or better >>

Not this Eric, please. <g> 9.6 for all but the handful doing HSCSD. The WORLD (well the GSM World) rapidly moving to GPRS.

<< But who cares >>

Me for one <g>, because I'm heavily invested in Q and would rather see the dominant digital wireless community in the world transition to cdmaOne/cdma2000 if their were a practical way to achieve it. Unfortunately its about more than technology, however.

Nice link from Mike. Bookmarked.

This morning CBS radio reported some AT&T spin to the effect that their costumer numbers are not increasing as much as some might expect because AT&T cut back on advertising (in order to minimize capacity problems). Now either this means that their business is so good they can't keep up with exploding demand, or that their system is so bad they don't want their customers any madder than they already are.

As I know they already have boat-loads of mad customers I assume it was the second, but in either case this seems to say they are in some serious trouble.
