You misunderstand and twist my words to suit your own meaning.

You imply that I advocate breaking the law as a valid means of doing business. If you genuinely read and thought about what I said you would not make that assumption. "Indictment" has multiple meanings and uses. The English language has many such words. Context is very important. In the sentence where I used the word Indictment it was not being used in a legal context. Here is what Miriam Webster has to say about the word.

1 a : the action or the legal process of indicting b : the state of being indicted
2 : a formal written statement framed by a prosecuting authority and found by a jury (as a grand jury) charging a person with an offense
3 : an expression of strong disapproval <an indictment of contemporary morality>

I was using meaning number three. I was not implying that a company should use illegal actions.

You also misunderstand my position on MSFT and SUNW. I am not of an either or mind set. I have stock in both. I think they will both do very well. Each will adapt to the changing landscape of the market. Linux or some other OS will come about, but not without a fight. If Linux really starts to take hold. MSFT will adapt. If some OS or hardware standard begins to threaten SUNW, they will adapt.

I do not attach a positive or negative spin to either company. As the rest of your points are about who is better or who is cleaner I have no response to them.

Good luck,
jb

>>It's a fundamental design issue and the reason that Windows will never be UNIX. <<

You mean to tell me Windows will never have a chance of going from a 95% installed base to a 2% installed base. JC. You're depressing me.

JC, you are depressing me. I read in a Gartner report
or something like it that would be like going from 95% installed base to 2%.

I also read in that same report that there would be no
more air travel in future and people will only drive automobiles.

Come on...isn't it obvious. 95% of installed base of
engine drive transport vehicles is autos, 2% is planes
who do you think is going to win ? When did you last fly
an airplane ? You drive an auto everyday. Even your grandma
drives an automobile. Can you see your grandma flying an
airplane ?

It think I will buy more GM and other auto stocks and
short Boeing and Airbus. They have no future. I even heard
GM has a NewTechnology car. They are releasing it
on schedule any day in 2000 as and when it is ready.
It slices and dices and runs on no batteries forever.
And its almost an airplane. I saw it. It had wings on its
sides.

As soon as its released, people are going to give
up on airplanes.

You heard it here first ! Don't say I didn't warn you !!

Gotta go....but oh well..before I forget <VBGGGGGGGGGG>
