My guess is that companies such as WCII TGNT ARTT NXLK will serve mainly the business market who do need fixed phones.

Actually the way I see it is that many individuals and families will no longer bother with a fixed home phone once CDMA 2000 has matured a year or so.

What would be the point of having and paying for a a fixed home phone once you have got a broadband mobile with large mobile memory on board. Even today the first and I guess primitive versions of view phones offre more than any fixed twisted pair has ever offered so why bother with them.

My guess is that we will see home cradles for the newer CDMA 2000 phones. These cradels will do the following:-

1. A place in the home hwere the mobile resides.

2. Charge the mobile

3. Download the mobile to your home PC

4. Download movies to some other large memory playing device

That sort of thing if you get my drift.

Best regards,

L
