Toys R Us online unit to offer free shipping
WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., Oct 26 (Reuters) - Toys R Us. Inc. said Tuesday its online unit, toysrus.com, is offering free shipping from October 18 through December 1 to drum up business from early holiday shoppers.

Toysrus.com (http://www.toysrus.com) made the offer for unlimited amounts of shipments and there is no minimum purchase requirement.

Orders will be shipped via standard delivery service, which should arrive between seven to 10 business days from the day of the order. The promotion does not include overnight or rush delivery charges, which are extra.

A toysrus.com spokeswoman said the company normally ships toys for a flat $4.25 fee for the first toy and $1.25 for each additional toy.

KBkids.com, an online venture of Consolidated Stores Corp's (NYSE:CNS - news) K*B Toys (http://www.kbkids.com), offers free shipping for orders more than $30 and charges $7.95 for the second day air and $13.95 for overnight air, a customer service representative said.

eToys Inc. (NasdaqNM:ETYS - news), a leading Internet retailer (http://www.etoys.com), said on its Web site that for standard shipping it charges $3.00, plus an additional $0.95 to $2.50 per item depending on the size and weight. Faster deliveries cost more.

lizzie,,the earnings were a disaster no matter how you look at it ,,they reported .1 and all their profit came from investment income and when you take that out they actually lost money and the average auction generates 20$ for the seller as opposed to 40$ last year,,you have to put these earnings into pespective in regards to the huge valuation the market awarded the company,,the only reason for the award was astronomical growth and this earning report not only doesn't show this kind of growth but actually shows slowing growth as compared with prior quaters,,at 50 it is still way over valued,,in addition ebay now has huge competition that yet remains to be seen how it will further affect it's growth,,
