"I still have some cash."

I'm curious whether this is true for many around here, and if so, what percent of your portfolio you are holding in cash. I ask this because it goes back to that timing debate we were having a while ago. As I understand it, having cash on hand is great because it allows you to buy on dips, but bad because it carries the opportunity cost of missing upward movement. By carrying cash, therefore, you are betting that you can time the market. What makes those of you who are carrying cash believe you can do this? And if you've done it successfully in the past, can you pass on the secret? <ggg>
