Invision Technologies Receives $700,000 R&D Funding From FAA
NEWARK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 27, 1999--InVision Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: INVN - news) today announced that it has been awarded $700,000 by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for an 18-month, two-phase R&D program that has a total potential value of approximately $900,000. InVision will use the funds to develop algorithms and techniques to reduce false alarm rates on its CTX family of explosive detection systems (EDS).

Sergio Magistri, InVision's President and CEO, said, ''These funds will offset R&D expenses incurred as part of our on-going efforts to continue to improve the performance of our CTX products. Following completion of Phase One milestones in approximately 12 months, we will petition the FAA to receive the additional funding. We believe this award further demonstrates the FAA's continued confidence in our high-performance CTX systems, the only FAA-certified systems in operation worldwide.''
