Hi Saturn V; It could also be that the Athlon is Icc limited at around 45 amps. To even type in such a huge current makes me laugh. I've never put half that current into something but what the insides vaporized fast enough to shoot package fragments all over the room. (Generally this happens when a part gets its power and ground reversed.)

Another explanation for why the hot clockers had to turn down the voltage in order to overclock the Athlon could be that they were running up against their power supply limits. Reducing the power supply by 10% will reduce the current requirement also by 10%, and the power consumption by about 20%. In any case, it is obvious to me, from the hot clocker reports, that the Athlon's got legs.

By one bin split, you guys are talking about 50MHz, correct?
