Jon: thanks for a bit of the other side. Bunch of gloomy folks around.

Why is it so difficult for everyone to get the central idea here? The SP's have absolutely nothing to gain by swamping the world with phones. If they have masses of phones out there on day one and their individual systems (billing, customer service, actual phone, etc.) do not preform as the customer expects they lose a customer. This is not a "pre-paid maybe I'll use the SP's network next week" customer. This is someone who can put down $1500 for a phone and demands premier service. If he is not imediately satisfied, he is gone - possibly forever.

Globalstar is a premium, value added service to the SPs. It is not their life blood. They got to where they are without it and will be here tomorrow without it. Same for the handset producers. The people who have the most at stake at this point, have the least amount of influence in the process. (which is how the investment world really works)

Deal with it. Pay your money and take your chances. Stop thinking your whining on SI will change anything.
(Wow quite the early morning whine for me, perhaps I had too much wine last night!)

Having said that, there is a market for this service. Rome was not built in a day, neither will Globalstar's subscriber base. Take what Bernie says and add a year or two. If that makes a difference to you, perhaps you should be elsewhere.
