Re: "Didn't that article indicate Microsoft was targeting that Game Box at $299 (when competitive games cost ONLY $99 - $149 !!!!!)
As you note, AMD could possibly provide Microsoft with a low enough Athlon price - $29...$39 - to help Microsoft make $100 profit for themselves.
Of course, at $29 to $39 - we can guess what kind of "profit" (hint, hint, Winky Winky !!) AMD will make on those AThlons !"

All AMD needs is to fill up their fabs with low margin Athlons for MSFT. Then they'll have very limited capacity for high margin products to pay off their debts! Brilliant strategy! Who but Jerry could think up such a devious plan?

F*rtbreath

What you are saying is that AMD will have to start discounting the Athlon like intc is having to do with its chips.

(hint, hint, Winky Winky!!) I DON'T THIIIINK SO!! Only intc is stupid enough to want market share that badly.
