Ebay to switch???

From what I read about EBay's competence in that whole department, I'm sure Sun would view a switch with mixed emotions. I vote EBay should give the bid to HP. :)

Every vendor has to continually earn a customers business - the competition is always just around the corner - this is true in computers as it is in selling cola. Sun may not have done the best job in the world by giving Ebay enough rope to hang themselves but do they seriously think they are going to get a better solution by moving to a mainframe??

sheesh there will be a bunch of 60 year olds working in their data center - think about the health care costs. I dont think they even know what a beanie baby is.

No way. They're just trying to force the price down. HP -forget it. IBM -maybe, but only if IBM really low-bid and then did the migration work for them. Pity the poor slobs who have to do that work.
