I am fed up. I really am. This has been the most frustrating investing year I have had since 1987. I am about 9% up on the year and am thinking about just calling it quits. I had a 79% ROR last year and have no intention of giving back my wealth effect. I think I will take a month off and re-examine things in dec.

John F. Dowd. Re: "This is really surprising." I've not seen the SSB report but, I would guess that there is concern that based on the CPQ conference call last night that server revenues may be depressed in the 4Q due to Y2K.

If PC sales surprise on the upside in 4Q and servers surprise on the downside, Intel's margins and profits take a short-term hit.

Just a possibility.
