The USPTO has made glaring errors in the recent past...

in regards to the internet. They gave one company a patent on eCommerce. They gave another company (I believe it was Comptons) a patent on multimedia. Both of these were overturned. The details are in a book called Owning the Future, by Seth Shulman.

Rob S is right. The patent is a joke. Don't worry about it. It'll go away. Bezos' comments about the patent belong in the Hall of Fame, along with the "New Metric".

IMO it will fail to stand or the claims will be so gutted that the examiners will stop wearing white because their faces will be permanently tinted blush red.

If it doesn't get thrown out quickly or the PTO doesn't at least call it back in for re-examination, the credibility of that independent (sic) branch of government will be severely questioned.
