Clearly you need a little help with this microsoft game console/athlon combination.. so let me give it to you:

The Athlon in question would be a no L2, athlon. Socket (or maybe even solder) mount, .18um part. The cost to Microsoft would be approximately $45-$60.

Microsoft can afford this as the machine is going to run a MS OS... i.e. MS doesn't have to pay for the OS. I could also tell you what the supporting logic and video circuitry would likely be.. but then people might get mad at me.

PS. It also means that future versions of directx and farenheight will be optimized first and foremost for Athlon, and THEN for Intel's chips.. have a nice day.
