I think a world standard is all but inevitable, considering:
1- the small number of players in the international game. a handful of companies dominate the cell phone market and will drive a standard.
2-the success of the att and sprint nationwide plans make international platforms the next step, requiring an international standard
3-the clear superiority of CDMA

Will QCOM get a slice of the next gen GSM standard? I bet the answer is yes but am sure you know one way or the other, mr. QCOM.
