Joey, <Maybe, but I don't think the guys at Redmond are very happy to see intel in bed with virtually all the major UNIX shops to co-market Itanium.>

I've said this before, and I'll say it again since it's so funny. I heard a guy say this, "Intel isn't really cheating on Microsoft. Rather, they're just having oral sex with a few attractive interns."

Ah, the legacy of Clinton.

Joey - Re: "There seems to be a little more urgency at Microsoft lately to get out their enterprise software if they really want to dent that market. IMO, Intel is the better positioned of the 2 going into the next several years."

Microsoft has a MAJOR EMPHASIS on their Enterprise Server business - which runs essentially ONLY on Intel-based hardware - as Greg Maffei indicated in Microsoft's Conference Call from last week (AMD wasn't even mentioned !).

Microsoft's future is tied to Intel's - and they know it.

Paul

Let me get this straight--you think Intel is better positioned than Microsoft, but you also think Sun is in trouble (based on previous comments). Maybe you ought to consider the consistency of these two positions.
