Of course the Cold War was global. It also was "Cold"...If China had marched on India, annexed the Philippines, and bombed Japan, that might have counted as a continental war. Korea and Vietnam did not....Communism was the greater long term threat, but the Nazis and their allies were a more pressing crisis.....
