Do analysts know ahead of time if things are going to be bad? Ask shareholders of HWP. They learned that lesson the hard way today. Unfortunately, the company tipped off analysts about weakness going forward before telling the market. The stock fell, but it wasn't until after the close that HWP put out the warning. After the close, the stock got hammered again. It's a real mugs game at times.

Z.O: I appreciate that you are shell shocked and in no condition to make any forward prediction. Due to the current slide, the new Targets need revision. Those changes will depend on the forward statements of Mgmt at the next earning's cc. Once these are out, I will be able to come up with a reasonable target for the next Q. Till then, I have no basis to formulate a target for next Q. My notes show that NN's forecast was as follows: Q1:19c , Q2:23c ,Q3:26c , Q4:29c for a total of 97c U.S. Obviously the current price and earnings for this Q do not match. One has to be wrong. The market says Earnings. We now have 23 days or less for a realty check. As for Broadband capacity, the utilized capacity of available DSL lines is less than 10%. (because of Consumer resistance.) There is also plenty of dark fibre. All this has lead to price wars and declines of share prices of the Service Companies.If there was genuine shortage, telephone rates would not be falling.! Check out the prices of AT&T, WCOM,TGO during the last 3 mths. Also see At&T latest Q report and Mgmt's forecast. Once the Service Companies feel the belt tighten, they pass some of that squeeze to their suppliers. So get ready.!
