It is better to ship the win2k after y2k than before the y2k. Many Many computers which are still running Win3.0 will need to upgrade
by Y2. if Win2k is not available this year, then these computers will need to upgrade to Win98 with new hardwares if they do not want to have their PCs shut down after y2k. These upgrade to win98 before y2k will upgrade to win2k later after y2k, this will definitely benefit Microsoft. Do you know how many 486/Pentium PCs are still running with Win3.0 in the Corp worldwide ? Do you know how big the revenues will be if they all upgrade to win98 by the end of this year ? your imagination. So Intc, MSFT all upbet in the last quarter of y2k !!!!
