Hi Ali Chen; I would point out, as you are well aware, that the difficulty of the Rambus 800MHz bus is far greater than four times that of the AMD 200MHz bus. The reason is that the Rambus channel is supposed to pass through six connectors (two per RIMM), four different PCBs, and up to something like 34 pins (32 RDRAM, one controller, one termination).

By the way, I liked your analogy with the fire hose not being long enough... Maybe just a few cm too long is still just too long, for that particular fire hose.

P.S. I'm gloating right now, cause I posted a prediction for AMZN's 3Q99 sales three months ago, and I was only off by 16 hundreths of a percent. #reply-10755819

Re: "So, you seem to agree with MY position that the
Rambust timing requirements are as stringent as for
800MHz signals, and therefore the difficulties to
manufacture and support this bus must be four-fold
as compared to AMD EV6 bus. And Tony Viola was proven
as fool, right?"

I think you are over reacting in search of someone to call "fool", as is your normal mode of operation, but I essentially agree with you in describing the difficulty in meeting timing requirements on RamBus.

Re: "However, my memory seems to become really weak
these days since I do not recollect any
meaningful arguments from you. Ever."

Now now Ali. Can't we just all get along? Your memory must really be failing to forget all the times I've corrected you. There's a fine line between "forgetting" and saving face. Let's just say you forgot and leave it at that.
